Biography - short version

Emilie Mory, a Canadian musician, is quickly noticed at the age of 12 years old by winning the first price at the concours Jeunes Talents in Montreal. After graduating in 2011 from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in modern violin, she joins the baroque violin class of Florence Malgoire at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève, where she obtains first a diploma in music performance in 2014 and a diploma in music and violin pedagogy in 2016. In 2020 she receives her last diploma in early strings at the Schola Cantorum in Basel in medieval and renaissance music in the fiddle class of Baptiste Romain. She also receives advice in 2018 and 2019 from Micrologus ensemble.

Emilie gives concert accross Europe, as much in baroque violin as in modern, in viola and fiddle. She takes part in the projects of several ensembles, such as Grenzklang Orchester, l’Ensemble de Joux, l’Ensemble Baroque du Léman, Fratres, Le Moment Baroque, L'Orchestre du festival du Juras, Cantabile, Amaryllis and several productions of d’Ad’Opéra. As soloist, she plays for the Commemoration of Normandy landings in 2014. Membre of the ensemble Galatée, her group was invited to play at the La Bâtie festival in Genève as well as in the prestigious Jardins Musicaux 2015 with a contemporary creation, mixing music and dance. Founding member of the Tentalora and La Rivera ensembles, she crosses Europe to introduce medieval music to the public. In 2018-2021, she is invited as specialized artist in medieval music for the project Eléctr'hop'era, in partnership with the Opéra Grand Avignon.
